ZLATIREPEC AWARDS 2022

This year’s jury, consisting of comics artist, theorist and publicist Iztok Sitar, multidisciplinary artist and assistant professor at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design Matej Stupica, and critic, publicist and editor Veronika Šoster, selected the nominees from more than 70 comic book releases that were published between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022.

The winners were announced at Kino Šiška on Saturday, 8 October 2022.

The Zlatirepec 2022 Awards are financially supported by the Slovenian Book Agency.

The contrasting and vivid colours in combination with night-time scenes appear almost virulent, and the story of an unusual friendship is told through a prism of identity, loss, origin and rebelliousness.

Over a large span of time, he tackled both pop culture and ancient folklore with equal fervour. The long-awaited second part deserves to sweep away the admittedly tough competition.
