exhibition in the public space and performance

As part of the Ljubljana leg of the international project Remix Comix, a series of residencies will take place, which the selected artists will crown with several new works in the public space – specifically in the AKC Metelkova area, which also served as inspiration for the participants of the two-week residencies. Through a series of works in various media the artists will address the heritage and importance of autonomous cultural spaces and the different forms of society and community that these spaces nurture.
The new comics murals and sculpture on the Metelkova walls will be accompanied by a performance designed by Dutch female artists and based on stories about Metelkova’s history and folklore. Local video artist Kristina Kokalj will also unveil a new video essay about Metelkova and its users.

The resident artists are Terezie Unzeitigová (CZ), Boris Stanić (RS), Konstantinos Petrović (RS), Vladimir Ilić (RS), Nivin Baranbo (NL) and Jos Daamen (NL), with Lebanese artist Mazen Kerbaj joining them as special guest and KUD Mreža resident.
