MOA ROMANOVA
The piercing freshness of the rising star of Swedish comics!
Moa Romanova (1992) is a rapidly rising star of the Swedish comics scene, and her work also resonates around the world. For her debut Alltid fucka up (Goblin Girl), which will also be published in Slovenian via Stripolis, she received the renowned Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material last year. In the graphic novel, she uses expressive yet stylized drawing to tell an autobiographical story about a twenty-something-year-old’s confrontation with herself and the world, days of aimless lounging, parties and drug experimentation, and how a bizarre Tinder affair with an older TV star helped her out of the black hole of anxiety and depression in a very unexpected way.
A selection of the author’s digital artworks will be presented at the exhibition at the Zorica bar. The author will present her creative process at Saturday’s masterclass and conversation at Kino Šiška, where she will also sign her comics during the fair.
